چکیده

This project evolved from the desire to create a robot which could be used in the international Robosoccer Competition. The goal is to build a team of robots for playing soccer on a specialized playing field. We have built a platform and the necessary hardware for communication and control. Since vision forms the primary sensor, we have written the necessary software to serve for ball detection, robot detection and the virtual boundary detection. Upon assembling our first prototype (Pele 2), we tested the vision and control algorithms. During the test the robot chased a ball while staying within the virtual boundary. The response of Pele2 to the vision-control algorithm was fairly smooth. The next steps are to add a kicking mechanism and build Pele3, a teammate for Pele2.

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...

Building of a Heterogeneous Segway Soccer Team towards a Peer-to-Peer Human Robot

Robotic soccer is an adversarial multi-agent research domain, in which issues of perception, multi-agent coordination and team strategy are explored. One area of interest investigates heterogeneous teams of humans and robots, where the teammates must coordinate not as master and slave, but as equal participants. We research this peer-to-peer question within the domain of Segway soccer, where te...

Motion Detection and Object Tracking for an AIBO Robot Soccer Player

Movement analysis is a fundamental ability for any kind of robot. It is especially important for determining and understanding the dynamics of the robot’s surrounding environment. In the case of robot soccer players, movement analysis is employed for determining the trajectory of relevant objects (ball, teammates, etc.). However, most of the existing movement analysis methods require the use of...
